12 hour Ultra Fat Ass in Canberra – Feb 2010

Just trying to put all the pieces together, but it’s looking that there will be a 12 hour Fat Ass in Canberra in February 2010.  It will probably be a night time event, probably on the weekend, 6-7 Feb 10 and held along a 1-2km course near Lake Burley Griffin. Perhaps on the Parliamentary triangle side. Entry will be free and you will count your own laps! It will be open to runners and walkers of all abilities.

It will be 20 years that weekend since my first Ultra, so why not spend it with Friends.  It will only be a couple of days since my birthday, so it will be good to walk my age that night and perhaps start a tradition over the next few years.  If the event is a success it might become a regular event and develop into a proper race.   It was a huge gap when the Gosford 12 hr finished, so who knows! I believe that there use to be a night time amrathon held in Canberra in the 70;s which was very self supporting, so perhaps this will be the beginning!
